Banyan has new flight simulators available for demonstrations. No appointment is needed, you can come demo many of our flight simulators any day the store is open! Simulation products from RedBird, Logitech, ThrustMaster, Flight Velocity Panels, Jetline Systems, Honeycomb, Virtual Fly, Noble Flight Sim, and RealSimGear are on display and available to try, as well as the best simulation software including Microsoft Flight Sim 2020, Laminar Research’s X-Plane 11, and Lockheed’s Prepar3D (pronounced ‘prepared’).

RedBird Flight Simulators 

Two new RedBird flight simulators, the Jay Velocity and the TD2 have recently been commissioned for use. The Redbird TD2 takes the advanced flight training tools found on larger simulators and puts it in a desktop device. Whether you are a flight school interested in enhancing your training with simulation, or an individual pilot looking to hone your skills and stay current from the comfort of your home or office, the Redbird TD2 is the perfect solution.

With its impressive range of features and training tools it’s no surprise that it has been FAA approved as a Basic Aviation Training Device. The Redbird TD2 represents a generic single engine piston aircraft. It is available in either glass or steam gauge configurations. With the TD2, you can choose to fly with or without retractable landing gear, constant speed propeller and/or a high performance engine. Under the appropriate FAR regulations the TD2 allows you to log currency at home!

If you are looking for a turn-key simulator one of the best options on the market is the Redbird Jay (and Jay Velocity). The Jay was designed to be the simplest to use desktop simulator ever built. In fact, you’ll be flying in 10 minutes or less with only 3 easy steps: 1. Put it on a table 2. Plug it in 3. Turn it on!

The Redbird Jay (and Jay Velocity) comes with scenario-based training built right in. The Jay is more than a simulator—it’s a flight experience device supporting training, proficiency, and just plain fun! RealSimGear

The newest simulator on display at the Banyan Pilot shop is the RealSimGear TBM Package. This is the ultimate hardware setup for the Hotstart TBM900 aircraft. The package includes the RealSimGear G1000 10.4″ PFD, the new 15″ MFD, Audio Panel, GCU478, GFC500, custom switch panels and the custom Stay Level Avionix Panel. The Stay Level Avionix panel makes for easy table top mounting, and with the included USB hub all cables are contained within the panel for easy moving and storage

Flight Velocity 

If you think you would rather build out your own flight simulator, Banyan Pilot Shop stocks customizable flight panels from Flight Velocity. These panels boast patented designs that are built from the desk up for strength, durability, and high performance. Proudly constructed in the USA from high-strength ABS plastics, our panels will give you hours of realistic flight time at an equally realistic price. If you already own some simulation peripherals you can take you flying to the next level by incorporating your existing hardware into a Flight Velocity panel.  Banyan Pilot Shop has a FV3 Flight Velocity panel available for demonstration that showcases how many of the Logitech flight simulation peripherals integrate perfectly.

Jetline Systems

Many of Banyan Pilot Shop’s flight simulators are driven by purpose built computers from Jetline Systems. Each computer is expertly assembled by hand in their Tampa, FL office. With years of experience Jetline has mastered PC building ensuring every component is properly secured and wired.

The majority of time spent assembling the machine is in cable management where Jetline Systems plays close attention to detail ensuring a beautiful PC inside and out. Each computer will ship with the Windows Operating System optimized for flight simulation with your choice of simulation software preinstalled, tested, optimized and benchmarked for performance.

Each purpose built computer is expertly overclocked, each individual processor overclocks differently and Jetline Systems treats each chip accordingly. If the chip does not perform to our standards, it is sent back.

Jetline Systems also offers JetConnect Remote Support, allowing their technicians to work with you through a remote internet connection to fix most of your problems or perform common diagnostics.

Honey Comb

Banyan Pilot Shop has partnered with Honeycomb Aeronautical to showcase the newest flight simulator controls on the market.  The recently released Alpha Flight Controls (yoke and switch panel) are the most advanced flight simulation system available to simmers, flight students, and pilots, with easy plug and play setup at home and featuring a complete backlit switch panel and ignition switch, it was designed and developed in California by pilots and aerospace engineers to ensure the most realistic flight experience. The Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls can be found installed on Banyan Pilot Shop’s RealSimGear TBM package.

Available later this year is the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, an all-in-one cockpit system featuring a configurable throttle setup, from single-engine general aviation to four-engine commercial aircraft. It features multiple cockpit components including autopilot, annunciator panel, gear & flaps lever as well as a trim wheel.
